CURRICULUM HIGHLIGHTS
Art and creative activities are available throughout the day. ">Our classrooms are child-centered environments, prepared with attractive, durable, developmentally appropriate hands-on lessons. Children are busy with self-chosen work and progress at their own pace.
The main classroom areas include:
Practical Life, with lessons in such activities as zipping and tying, water pouring and food preparation;
Sensorial, containing materials that stimulate the child's senses, such as color and shape discrimination;
Language, which incorporates a phonics-based system of teaching reading and writing;
Mathematics,where children learn counting, number recognition, the decimal system and the four operations using math manipulatives unique to Montessori;
Cultural and Science lessons, which teach geography with a set of map puzzles as well as hands-on science lessons such as magnets and "sink-and-float."
